Every student at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic School may apply for scholarships and financial aid. Working in partnership with parents, who are the primary educators of their children, we want to ensure that the young people in our school community have an opportunity to receive an affordable Catholic education. In order to be considered for the Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA) financial assistance and our St. Mary Adopt-A-Student Tuition Assistance, you must complete and submit online the FACTS Grant & Aid application as well as complete and submit the Adopt-A-Student application for your family.
For scholarships and financial aid other than EdChoice, please apply by completing the Tuition Rates and Scholarship/Financial Aid Application worksheet as well as the additional applications required and submit to Carol Lorek in the parish office.
The deadlines in which to apply/submit the DTA (FACTS) and tuition assistance applications for consideration are as follows:
March 15th
- Diocesan Round 1 FACTS application (notified in May of award decision)
- St. Mary’s Adopt-A-Student application
- Diocesan Special Scholarship applications
April 24th
- Angel Scholarship Fund
May 15th
- Diocesan Round 2 FACTS application (notified in July of award decision)
August 14
- EdChoice Scholarship application and required documents

EdChoice is an income-based program through the state of Ohio. Students in grades K-12 are given the opportunity to attend a private school for little or no cost once approved. EdChoice provides up to $5500 for grades K-8, and $7500 for grades 9-12.

DIocesan Tuition Assistance (FACTS GRANT & AID)Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA) needs-based financial assistance – The Diocese of Cleveland provides financial assistance through its Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA). This separate needs-based assistance is made available through the Diocese of Cleveland by completing the DTA application process. The FACTS Grant & Aid Application must be completed online and submitted by March 15th along with the required supporting documentation and non-refundable application fee

st. mary's adopt-a-student tuition assistanceAdopt-A-Student Tuition Assistance (Parish Tuition Assistance) – Financial aid is available to those families who are registered at St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, and who regularly participate in the life of the Parish, including regular attendance at mass as determined in the Parish’s discretion and as evidenced by the use of offertory cards or envelopes, regardless of whether a donation is made. The Parish provides tuition assistance based on need as determined by DTA application process as well as the amount of funds available. You must complete, sign and submit by March 15th the Adopt-A-Student Tuition Assistance Application, in addition to have submitted online the FACTS Grant & Aid Application as instructed above.
*NEW* Angel Scholarship FundAngel Scholarship Fund - Scholarship is based upon family financial need and household size. Families at or below the 300% poverty level will receive priority. Please see the brochure here for more information. You must complete, sign, and submit by April 24th the Angel Scholarship Fund Application, in addition to have submitted online the FACTS Grant & Aid Application as instructed.

HORVATH ENDOWMENT TUITION ASSISTANCE
The Horvath Endowment was established by the family of Martha A. Horvath, in order to follow her wishes to provide financial assistance to families who believe in Catholic education but are unable to afford it. We are reaching out to families that may have considered our school as an education option for their child(ren) or who may have withdrawn from our school due to financial circumstances. In order for your family to be considered, you will need to complete and submit the Horvath Endowment Tuition Assistance Application directly to Father Tom.
Families will be notified of scholarship and/or financial aid awards as soon as possible.
