What's happening at SMA?

 Welcome back to SMA!

We are so excited for another great year! The new playground is finished! A huge thank you to all the parents who spent hours demolishing the old playground and assembling the new apparatuses making the new playground an exciting place for the children to frolic and play. We must also thank our walkathon donors and volunteers, without them none of this would have been possible! 

• MAP Testing begins the week of September 16th. Details will be forthcoming from K-8 classroom teachers.

• Wednesday, September 18th, at 7:00 pm, PTU Meeting in Farrell Hall

• Wednesday, September 18th, School Magazine Sale Kick-off. More information will be forthcoming.

• Tuesday, September 24th, Picture Day for K-8, Preschool A, Pre-K A, Jr K

• Wednesday, September 25th, Donuts with Grands for last names that begins with A-J. 

• Friday, September 27th, Preschool B and Pre-K B Picture Day

There is a change in reporting absences to the school this year. If your child will be absent for the day, please email the
school at [email protected] before 8:30 a.m. Please be sure to include your child’s full name, grade level, teacher, and the reason
for absence. If you know your child will be absent for more than 1 day, please state that in your email. Otherwise, an
email is required for each day your child is absent.

St. Mary of the Assumption School has a long history of success and merit dating back to the fall of 1952 when four Ursuline nuns started the school.  Since the beginning, our school has grown in both size and population to include over 40 staff members and more than 300 students.  St. Mary of the Assumption School continues to be a model of excellence and virtue to the children of Northeast Ohio.
