sometimes the best learning takes place outside the walls of the classroom
Taking students beyond the confines of the classroom makes learning fun, spontaneous, and deep. Field trips, service projects, and experiential activities allow students to put into practice what they learned about at their desks. Our teachers collaborate with some of the greatest assets in our community to make a wide variety of experiences available to our students throughout their time at SMA.

community partners enrich our school community
Strong community partnerships allow St. Mary of the Assumption School to expand when, where, how, and what students learn. Our community is blessed to have nonprofits, businesses, government organizations, and parent volunteers who are willing to share their experiences with our students. Their stories enable students to understand how the concepts they learn in school apply to the real world.

engaging classrooms and hands-on lessons that inspire curiosity
Hands down, the greatest asset of St. Mary of the Assumption School is our teachers. Collectively, they have hundreds of years of teaching experience between them. Ten hold Masters degrees and all staff members engage in professional development each year to share best practices and learn new instructional strategies. The culture of collaboration that exists in the building is evident in the number of interdisciplinary projects and cross grade level interactions that take place.
Students are the beneficiaries of the tight-knit faculty and staff that exists at our school. A walk through the halls of St. Mary's reveals creative classrooms, hands-on lessons, and students who are inspired. The result is that students graduate prepared for high school and the challenges that lie beyond.
